  • Course Description

Course Overview:

The Cisco NetAcademy CCNA: Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials course teaches essential skills in switching, routing, and wireless networking. Students learn to configure and manage switches and routers, implement local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), and configure wireless networks. The course includes troubleshooting practices and network security implementation, preparing participants for the CCNA certification exam and careers in networking and IT infrastructure.

What You Will Learn:

  • Work with routers, switches, and wireless devices to configure and troubleshoot VLANs, wireless LANs, and inter-VLAN routing.
  • Configure and troubleshoot redundancy in a switched network using STP and EtherChannel.
  • Develop critical thinking and professional problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Explain how to support available and reliable networks using first-hop redundancy protocols and dynamic addressing.

Description:

This course focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small and medium-sized business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLANs) and security concepts. In this second course of a three-course CCNA series, you will perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN. Recommended preparation: CCNA: Introduction to Networks or equivalent knowledge. After completing all three CCNA courses, you will be ready to take the CCNA certification exam.
